Now and Then

The Lake

A short summer’s morning walk, along the harsh jagged path, looking over at the beautiful  rolling mountains; and rocky valley surrounds a glistening lake. Beams of clouds, reflecting over the aqua blue pond, Makes the moment feels so surreal; like a picture out of the frame.

People emerge in their new brightly coloured swimsuits, ready to start the summer season. They jump and swim around the lake, like a school of  brightly coloured fish. They float around on lie lows, look as if they look as if they are seals, sunbathing on the rocks. The sparkle in the eyes of the children; skating around with their big smiles, shows their emotions, even with their screams and laughs of joy; that disappear into the echoing mountainside. That moment will be treasured by the family, the memory of the swimming hole, captured on a camera.

A whoosh of wind goes past everyone, moments later drizzles of rain surround them, screams of joy from the children, splashing around like fish out of water. As the clouds darken a storm brews, layers of clothing pile on, and the family’s day time activity finally comes to an end. People scurry along the track, wanting to get back to their warm sun baked car, before the storm arises. With having many captured memories from the day out, to add to the album to share with their family and friends.

………………………..

A short winter’s morning walk, along the hash icy path, looking over at the view of the sugar covered mountains, and a rocky valley, surrounds a frozen over lake. Beams of light from the clouds, reflecting on the frozen over lake. Makes the moment feel so surreal, like a picture out of the frame.

People emerge in their warm mixed matched winter coats, ready to start the winter season off, looking as if they are eskimos, waddling along onto the slippery ice, gliding  around the ice like a bevy of swans. The sparkle in the eyes of the children, skating and there big smiles shows their emotions, even with the screams and laughs of joy, that disappear into the echoing mountainside. That moment will be treasured by the family, the memory of the children’s first skate, captured on the camera.

Bright sunbeams appeared through the clouds, moments later the clouds slowly fade away, and bright lights sparkle on the ice lake; the screams of joy and the layers of clothing begin being chucked off, onto the strubby path. As the day brightens the day comes to an end, it is time to go home, and gather the gear and skates. Disappearing along the track, ready to jump in the car and go back home for a nice hot meal, with captures of memories to add to the album to share with family and friends.
